Animation, Cutscenes and Audio
Animation
Character Animation such as Walking, idle, jumping or even swimming are static loop able animations and are always in focus of the game. If you made a lazy animation in this section of the game, the player will always remembered of something seamed of center. Try to set your focus on making believable animations for your game
Animation brings your characters and environment to life. Unreal Engine provides robust tools for creating and managing animations:
Skeletal Animation: Unreal Engine supports complex skeletal animations, allowing for realistic character and creature movements.
Animation Blueprints: These visual scripting tools allow you to control and refine your animations with precision.
Cutscenes
Texture size is with the current graphic card technologies no longer a big deal, nevertheless keep in mind that 4k multi channel Textures get up to 150 mb, so your project can get very fast very huge in size. A good way is to find a middle way that fits your recommendations to the players.
Cutscenes are scripted sequences that help to tell your game’s story. They can be used to introduce characters, provide background information, or set the mood for your game:
Sequencer: Unreal Engine’s Sequencer tool allows you to create cinematic cutscenes with a multi-track editor for creating and previewing cinematic sequences in real-time.
Matinee: Although it’s being phased out in favor of Sequencer, Matinee is another tool you can use to create cutscenes in Unreal Engine.
Audio
If its the first second of Mario, Halo or Star Wars. Immediately you're in. The music is a deep reminder of awesome feelings and emotions. If you get a composer for your game you are already on a good way to awesomeness.
Of course the are also trolling music like the fail music of "Only Up".
But still, a good indicator.
Sound design is a key component of game immersion. It enhances the gaming experience by providing audio feedback and setting the mood:
Audio System: Unreal Engine’s audio system supports a wide range of features, from spatial audio for 3D sound to real-time synthesis and effects.
Sound Cues: These are node-based audio assets that allow you to design complex audio behaviors.
Remember, animation, cutscenes, and audio are crucial for creating an engaging and immersive experience for your players. Spend time polishing these aspects of your game to enhance its overall quality.
